Job overview

In addition to the above skills you will need a GCSE in English and Maths or the equivalent Level 2 in numeracy and literacy. An NVQ 2 in Care is desirable.  Previous Radiology Department Assistant or Health Care Support Worker experience is desirable but not essential.

Main duties of the job

Radiology Department Assistants support Radiographers, Sonographers and Radiologists in providing frontline care to patients in a busy Imaging Department 7 days a week. They enable an efficient and caring environment. It is important they have the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge needed to maintain the highest standards of care. Successful applicants will need to demonstrate compassion, care, commitment, courage and effective communication and organisational skills. A good understanding of IT is essential.
