Do you want to make a difference to the lives of people with heart problems?
We are looking for an enthusiastic motivated individual to undertake an apprenticeship in cardiac physiology.
You shall work as a key member of the Cardiac Physiology department by competently carrying our various diagnostic procedures in various healthcare settings.
· To develop the skills to allow independent practice, analysing, interpreting and reporting a wide range of specialist Cardiac procedures.
· To develop the skills to support advanced specialist procedures as 2nd Operator under the supervision of a specialist, advanced or expert practitioner.
· You will actively participate in practical and theoretical training and development within the field of Cardiac Physiology.
· Complete BSc in Healthcare Cardiac Science and become an independent practitioner.

Annex 21 will be applied to the salary for the duration of training which is expected to take 3 years (please see attached guidance)
Patient Care and Clinical Practice
1. The recording and interpretation of clinical physiology diagnostic procedures as listed below as part of a team.
2. 12 Lead Electrocardiograph (ECG’s). To perform ECG investigations employing current standard techniques (SCST guidelines) without supervision on outpatients and on the wards on a variety of different patients.
3. To record and produce reports for diagnostic Cardiac Investigations, such as Ambulatory 24-hour ECG’s, ambulatory BP’s (blood pressure) and event recorders and take appropriate actions where necessary.
4. Application and analysis of ambulatory blood pressure monitors (BP).
5. Exercise testing physiologist and medically led (On qualification).
6. Understand Basic Cardiac pacing and echocardiography (On Qualification).

- A minimum of three 3 A-Levels (grade B or above), preferably in the sciences
- 5 GCSE’s, grades to include English, Maths & Science
