Advanced Pharmacist (Dermatology)
Band 8a
Job overview
Are you a highly, experienced clinical pharmacist looking for a new and unique way to develop your clinical specialism, and play a pivotal role in delivering transformational change across a provider collaborative?
If so, we have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Team at Great Western Hospital on a 12month, fixed-term basis as an 8a Advanced Pharmacist (Dermatology).
You will initially use your independent prescribing and consultation skills to deliver key, specialty- specific, biosimilar switch savings, both within the Trust and across our acute provider collaborative, but will then further establish the role of the specialist pharmacist within the Dermatology team at Great Western Hospital, supporting the specialty to reduce their risks around prescription, monitoring and review of medicines, as well as non-medically prescribing in out-patient & day hospital settings and championing medicines optimisation & medicines effectiveness for in-patients, day cases and outpatients.
By demonstrating the value of this post to both our Trust and the wider BSW Acute Healthcare Alliance at the end of its fixed-term, you will play a key role in influencing our future service developments and, potentially, the establishment of a similar permanent post.

- Assist in clinical decision making to ensure patient safety and medication effectiveness through the medicines optimisation agenda.
