We are looking to recruit a Supply Chain Supervisor to join the GWH Supply Chain team based in the Great Western Hospital, in Swindon.

This is a full time 37.5 hours per week role to be performed on a Monday to Friday basis, with working hours to be discussed during the interview.

This is a customer/team focused role that oversees the service of the Supply Chain Coordinators providing a continuous supply of goods to desinated locations as per agreed stock levels. The role is varied and can be physical in nature due to the activities that could be undertaken such as picking, packing, sorting, and the distribution of goods.  Coordinating the work of a team of staff, ensuring high level of service is delivered. With the use of leading-edge technology, you will be able to influence how goods are moved, managed, stored, purchased & replenished within your remit.  Your primary role will be to work within the Point  Of Care Team but as part of a wider network you will need to be a strong team player and be flexible to work across the Trust as and when needed to support the wider service and your colleagues and stakeholders.

This role is based at the GWH in Swindon.

Our award winning team provide Procurement and Supply Chain services to Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Royal Bath United NHS Trust and Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust.  

As a Supply Chain Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of supply chain coordinators to ensuring that clinical services within the hospital have a continuous supply of goods in line with the Trust’s Inventory Management system.  With the use of this leading-edge technology, you will be able to influence how goods are moved, managed, stored, purchased & replenished within your remit.  The role requires scheduled visits to the departments, undertaking stock inventory using Electronic Data Capture and other Materials Control systems.  This will include investigating discrepancies, problem solving, contacting suppliers, and conveying information to stakeholders in a timely manner.  Communicating with senior staff ensuring task completion by deadlines is also a key element of the position.

The ideal candidate will have a full understanding of best customer service practices and possess the ability to work on their own initiative developing customer relationships and processes relevant to the Supply Chain Team.  Excellent communication skills are paramount and will be integral to the supervision and line management of a small designated team.
