CHC (Continuing Healthcare) Brokerage Manager 

Band 6 - NHS Agenda for change, full time/permanent role

Based in Acton House, Worcester or St Owen's, Hereford.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will report to the Senior Contracts Manager and will have the responsibility for ensuring that a full and comprehensive brokerage service is maintained and will work with commissioners and operational teams to manage the procurement and contracting for NHS funded packages of care and work in partnership with other organisations to ensure best value outcomes with a focus on quality assurance and continuous improvement. Applicants will need to demonstrate past experience in commissioning, brokerage, management and administrative processes. Good communication skills are essential as this role.

The post holder will be responsible for the line management of the brokerage team and will oversee the teams’ workloads and productivity. There will be a direct link into HR management including monitoring staff sickness, appraisals and 1:1 meeting’s, understanding and complying to relevant statutory policies and the recruitment and selection of staff.

  • Evidence of continuing Professional development

  • Management qualification or relevant specialist training.

  • Experience of managing staff, including delegation and oversight of duties
  • Experience and understanding of evaluating and measuring the performance of health services
  • Problem solving skills and ability to respond to sudden unexpected demands

  • A good understanding of the health and social care environment and roles and responsibilities within it
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
