THIS POST IS FIXED TERM FOR 12 MONTHS TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE SERVICE
As a higher laboratory support worker in blood Sciences the post holder is working under supervision of qualified scientists for the delegated tasks required for the delivery of a fit-for-purpose, 24/7 medical laboratory service analysing and reporting on blood, urine, faeces and other body materials to achieve the objectives of efficient and effective patient care, and effective resource management within the hospital.
Main duties of the job
As part of our ongoing service modernisation, the Blood Sciences Department in Wrexham Maelor Hospital is looking to appoint a band 3 Higher Healthcare Science Assistant.
This is a key role in the organisation, complementing the expertise of other experienced Scientists & Science Assistants and will be part of a fast paced laboratory diagnostics service.
The successful candidate will need a basic knowledge of laboratory services and be able to demonstrate a capacity to learn and develop with a drive to deliver an excellent service for the benefit of the community we serve; committed to ensuring that our patients are at the heart of everything we do.
With strong team working skills, you will be able to demonstrate the values that are important to us, communicating well; working supportively with colleagues; focusing on delivering a quality service and treating others with respect and dignity.
We believe in accountability, but we also believe in shared responsibility - so you’ll have plenty of peer support too.
You’ll also enjoy being part of a close-knit, sociable team, with all the support and training you need to further your skills.
