Job overview
The Catering Department at Wrexham Maelor Hospital provide meals, snacks and beverages to patients, staff and visitors. The Cook Team Leader is a key member of the team and has responsibility for carrying a range of duties related to food production and service in a busy kitchen environment. The Cook Team Leader will be working closely with Catering Supervisors, Catering Co-ordinator and managers to ensure that Catering services meet relevant nutritional and dietary requirements arising from clinical, religious and cultural needs.
We are therefore seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and motivated individual who has City & Guilds 706/1, 706/2 or equivalent qualifications plus Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or work towards on commencement. Experience of working as a Chef, catering for large numbers would be of advantage

The Cook Team Leader’s responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and cooking meals from base and raw ingredients and the regeneration of bought in specialist meals and cook freeze foods
- Supporting Catering Supervisors in the day to day supervision of staff,
- Ensuring a clean safe environment is maintained
The Cook Team Leader needs to have good teamwork, leadership, communication and organisational skills. They need to be self-motivated, be able to work unsupervised, have a flexible approach to shift alterations and have a friendly and professional approach
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
