Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with strong leadership qualities and excellent communication skills to apply for a Band 7 post as Team Manager in Wrexham CAMHS team.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

The team is multidisciplinary and offers a range of evidence based health interventions and services ranging from primary care through to secondary care. The team also operates in accordance with requirements of the Mental Health Measure 2010 legislation.

The Team Manager is responsible for the day to day management of the team at operational level. The successful candidate would be expected to lead by example, promoting a culture of team working and evidence based service provision with an emphasis on providing positive experiences for patients. The ability manage change effectively, balancing service needs and individual team members is key to this role.

The delivery of mental health services to children and young people is progressing through an exciting period of review and transformation in Wales. This post will provide an opportunity for the successful applicant to support the development of new and innovative ways of working with partners to promote the resilience and emotional wellbeing of children and young people in Wrexham.

A clinical background of working in child and adolescent mental health services and experience of working within the choice and partnership approach would be advantageous, but we are also keen to hear from applicants from other mental health clinical backgrounds who can demonstrate transferable skills and knowledge. The successful candidate will work as part of a supportive and committed management team in East CAMHS.
