Please be advised that there is a temporary top up for Bands 1,2 and 3 to reflect the incorporation of the top up to the living wage of £12 per hour - £23,465 per annum. This temporary top up will be in place until the annual pay uplift for 2024/25 is confirmed
Job overview
The post holder is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidenced-based nursing care, working collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families.
Assist in the management and organisation of their clinical area and participating in the education, development and supervision of other staff members.
Main duties of the job
All applicants must be a Registered Nurse, with recent experience at Band 5 and meet the Band 6 Job Description person specification. Experience in both pathways is essential for this Senior Nursing post holder.
The position involves working as an Band 6 Sister / Charge Nurse on SAU Ward(Internal rotation) Surgical Ward, with a general surgical speciality
Applicants will also be required to undertake Mentorship of Student Nurses and preceptorship of newly qualified nurses whilst assisting the ward sister in managing SAU Ward, and ensuring that the Fundamentals of Care are maintained to a high standard.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- NMC Registered Nurse
- Diploma in Nursing or willingness to undertake
- Advanced Life Support or willingness to undertake
Desirable criteria
- Degree in Nursing or relevant clinical/professional subject
- Management Qualification
- Alert, Raat, APLS,PLS
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant post reg experience at band 5
- Experience within an appropriate clinical area
Desirable criteria
