The salary scale above has been agreed as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2024/2025 and will be implemented in November 2024 backdated to 1st April 2024 where applicable.
Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 nurse to join our renal transplant specialist nurse team. The post is advertised as a Development post and on completion of competencies will progress into a Band 7 Specialist Nurse role.
The main focus of the role is planning, assessing and maintenance of transplantation for renal patients and requires a quality improvement focus in addition to the expected skills and knowledge set out in the Job Description.
The post holder will work as part of the renal transplant specialist nurse team, in the delivery of the transplantation service in North Wales and a part of a Multi-Disciplinary/Multi Service team to ensure a consistent and integrated approach to patient care.
Clinical audit is core to the monitoring of service standards and delivery. The post holder will be proactive in meeting the educational and training needs of patient and nursing staff.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
JOB SUMMARY / JOB PURPOSE:
To support the BCUHB in increasing the number of renal/pancreas transplant patients, and living donor transplants.
To provide specialist nursing expertise, knowledge and skills in the clinical practice of transplantation nursing care.
To be an agent for change to emphasise patient empowerment and self-care within defined clinical and organisational boundaries.
To enhance education through the teaching of patients, families, and colleagues in order to enhance clinical practice and improve patient care.
To provide a consistent approach and share best practice across BCUHB.
