We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity to join our nursing team in the Emergency Department at Milton Keynes University Hospital. Are you a caring professional with experience in A&E or another acute care setting? If so, we would love for you to contribute your skills and knowledge to improve patient care and collaborate with our team to make a positive impact.
The successful candidate will use their communication skills to work alongside other healthcare professionals in our fast-paced, dynamic department, ensuring seamless care. Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Professional
- To demonstrate continuous development of professional skills and knowledge.

- To contribute to the development of the Unit using research-based practice.
- To main accurate and legible records of nursing care.
- To support the Senior Sister in managing change within the Department.
- To contribute to the wellbeing of the team by demonstrating leadership and support for colleagues.
Management and Clinical
- To be aware of the Trust’s Nursing and Midwifery Strategy.
- To assess, plan and implement care for allocated patients
- To be competent at assessing range of facts or situations requiring comparison of a range of options.
Education
- To participate in ensuring that the department’s environment is conducive to teaching and learning.
- To act as mentor/assessor to student nurses and adaptation students.
- To act as a good role model for all members of the ED team.
- To undertake in service training programmes and attend all mandatory training sessions required by the Trust.
- To extend scope of practice in accordance with hospital policy to meet with needs of the Unit.
