Our dedicated Lecturers (Teaching) are subject specialists focused on delivering student education, which is active, social, applied, and inclusive within our vibrant and varied education environment.
The School of Health and Care delivers an extensive range of undergraduate and post graduate courses for professionals working in health and social care settings including; nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dietetics, paramedic science, operating department practice, diagnostic radiography, clinical psychology and public health. We also have a large portfolio of CPD courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels including Advanced Clinical Practice, Independent prescribing and Global Healthcare Management.
The Role
As a Lecturer (Teaching) in Nursing Associates, you will undertake teaching and course co-ordination while supporting the development and delivery of undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programs and other core activities ensuring students have an effective learning experience.
Based within the School of Health and Care you will work closely with other academic colleagues to enrich the student learning and teaching experience to ensure, as appropriate, relevant aspects of research, enterprise and professional context are embedded in modules and courses.
Duties include:
Teach on modules and courses at HE levels 4-6 in relevant academic subject areas.
Assess and provide feedback on students’ academic work:
Act as an Academic Assessor for Nursing Associates:
Provide pastoral care and academic support to students:
Support students’ learning in practice settings:
Participate in course recruitment activities:
Contribute to course development and evaluation activities:
Qualifications Required
Master’s degree in an appropriate subject
OR (if from a professional practice background) a good Honours Degree and appropriate professional qualification and/or membership
A teaching qualification or acceptance of the requirement to acquire one if not already held.
Active and live Nursing Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council within related field of practice.
Our Successful Candidate
We are looking for a Lecturer (Teaching) in nursing associates who can demonstrate the following qualities:
A strong background and expertise in nursing, with the ability to teach at levels 4-7 in higher education.
A passion for sharing knowledge and supporting students in their learning journey, both in clinical practice and in the classroom.
An active and innovative approach to teaching, learning and student engagement, with evidence of successful outcomes and student satisfaction.
A self-motivated and enthusiastic attitude, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
A willingness to embrace flexibility and innovation in the delivery of education, using a variety of methods and platforms.
A current active NMC registration, which is essential for this role.
