Job overview

The post holder will work as an integral part of the outpatient team.

They will support the current Housekeeper for the co-ordination of all patient/facilities/services in the Outpatients area and for ensuring a safe and comfortable environment. 

Main duties of the job

The main element of the role is to support the current Housekeeper and Managers in the running of the Outpatients department, together with other specified tasks to meet individual patients needs, as determined by the Departmental Sister or nurse in charge.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To ensure a clean and tidy environment for patients and visitors.

To order stock and maintain stock control.

Report equipment that needs repair and maintenance to EBME

To be aware of any changes to waste categorisation etc  and make sure all staff aware by displaying posters.

To ensure own actions reduce risk to health and safety and to promote a health and safety culture within the workplace.

To ensure the department has sufficient stocks to meet patient and staff needs.

  • Qualification in NVQ level 3

  • Experience of undertaking a Housekeeper role
