Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of a team as a Clerical Officer / Receptionist in the charming Community Hospital based in the town of Chirk.
The successful applicant will act as the first point of contact for the Health Board and be responsible for assisting patients visiting / calling the Hospital, as well as colleagues and all service users.
The post holder must have a helpful and pleasant manner with an enthusiasm to do their upmost in achieving a patient’s expectations and requirements, making their clinical journey run as smooth as possible. A daily rotation of front desk and back office duties gives variation to the role and therefore superb communications and ample computer literacy skills are valuable.
In addition, flexibility is essential, as the post holder may at times be required to work within different departments/sites across the Flintshire & Wrexham areas to meet the demands of the service.
Welsh language Skills are essential for this post.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) in English language or equivalent level of experience
- IT or word processing qualification (e.g. RSA 2 or equivalent experience)
Desirable criteria
- ECDL
- NVQ Level 1 or equivalent in customer service
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of using a computer system (e.g. GP clinical IT system)
- Previous experience of working in a reception/office environment
- Experience of working with the general public
Skills
Essential criteria
- Ability to input information onto a computer system with accuracy
- Ability to work in a busy environment, and deal with a number of different tasks simultaneously
- Ability to communicate tactfully with patients
- Ability to resolve issues ‘on the spot’ using own judgement
