Trainee Audiologist Role
Level 6 apprenticeship (BSc Honours in Audiology Practice)
The base for this post is West Cumberland Hospital Whitehaven.
We are looking to recruit a motivated, ambitious and caring individual for the role of Trainee Audiologist. This is an exciting opportunity to obtain a degree qualification whilst working within the NCIC Audiology service.
During the training period the student will receive a proportion of their final salary based on Annex 21 arrangements for pay and banding of trainees detailed in the NHS Terms and Conditions of Service Handbook.
The post-holder will participate in providing a comprehensive range of diagnostic and rehabilitative procedures as part of a combined service dealing with both adults and children with hearing related conditions. The successful candidate will be based at Whitehaven Hospital but will be expected to work in outreach clinics at a number of sites across North Cumbria.
In terms of entry requirements, candidates need to have a minimum of 112 UCAS points from at least 2 A-Levels, which must include either biology or chemistry. Candidates must also have at least 3 GCSEs at grade C or above (numerical value 4-9) which must include English and Maths. Main duties of the job
This full-time (37.5 hours per week) post involves undertaking a 3 year training programme that incorporates funding for study on the BSc (Hons) Audiology Practice (Apprenticeship) at The University of Sunderland.
This programme is available for online learning with a requirement to attend campus for 2 individual block weeks per academic year. In addition to the taught content, learners on the Audiology apprenticeship complete a logbook of competency development throughout the three stages on programme, within their workplaces. Upon successful completion of the programme, graduates are eligible for registration with the Academy for Healthcare Science and take on the role of Band 5 Healthcare Scientist within the trust.

Standard DBS check £21.50, Enhanced DBS check £49.50 + any admin costs.
