Job overview

The post holder will work closely with the operational theatres management team and the estates department to ensure maintenance work within the theatre complex is organised and completed in a timely and structured manner. This will involve a close working relationship with the Trust’s managed service company, Gloucestershire Managed Services (GMS).

The job holder will be supporting the Managed Service Operations Manager for Managed Service contract (GMS) managing the administration staff, attending relevant meetings pertaining to the Managed Service (GMS).

The post holder will develop and deliver transformation/improvement projects for the theatres estate and environment according to a standardised project management framework and pre-determined timelines to ensure integration of projects and systems with the Trust Project Management Officer (PMO).

Challenge, in a positive manner, current working practices, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Providing advice, support, leadership and decision making for daily issues within Managed Service Department.

Management of Stocktake to ensure it is timely and accurate.

Provide training, advice and support on own role and responsibilities.

Deliver against objectives, achieving quality outcomes, prioritising own workload, and working to tight deadlines.

To ensure all aspects of administration within the post remit adhere to the Clinical Governance & Risk and Information Governance and Information Security policy requirements.

Working for our organisation

The Theatre Management team consists of a General Manager Theatres, the Managed Service Operations manager report to this post then the Managed Services Coordinator reports to this post.

 

We are a busy dynamic team who supports Theatres, to ensure the smooth running of department.

Essential and Desirable

Essential criteria
  • Maths & English GCSE or equivalent
  • Substantial relevant NHS experience, preferably within a surgical setting
  • Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Familiar & able to use Trust IT Systems- SharePoint software
  • Stock control system knowledge & experience
Desirable criteria
  • Project experience ideally with experience of Capital schemes
  • Ability to analyse data to identify areas for improvement
