We have an exciting opportunity for a dietitian to enhance their skills and knowledge in Head and Neck Oncology as part of our team at Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) NHS trust.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a dietitian to join our team of head and neck dietitians at Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH). The dietitians are valued members of the Head And Neck multidisciplinary team and provide a high quality service to pre and post-operative Head and Neck cancer patients in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. You will be working closely with the wider members of the multidisciplinary team including consultants. Specialist speech and language therapists, specialist nurses, dietetic colleagues and ward staff to ensure an effective and consistent service. A good knowledge of the management of nutritional support patients and enteral nutrition is essential. You will need to have excellent communication skills, a flexible approach and the ability to manage a small specialist team. We would expect you to be enthusiastic, motivated and supportive of the wider dietetic team. This post is ideal for a dietitian wishing to develop their clinical, leadership and service development skills.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
You’ll need to have excellent communication and leadership skills, be adaptable and confident to work autonomously and with other members of staff within a supportive multi-disciplinary team. We expect you to be enthusiastic, motivated, able to evidence continuing professional development and keen to develop yourself and others. You will have experience of nutritional support in Head and Neck Cancer, or experience which is applicable.

- Wide ranging and extensive experience of working within specialist area
- Experience of delegating to and supervising other members of the team
- Able to plan and deliver clinical education about theory and practice to individuals, team and the wider MDT (including students)

- Knowledge of national and local standards and national guidelines
