Training Developer Practitioner - EPMA

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder will play a key role in the development and the delivery of high quality, effective, multidisciplinary training and education within the Trust, which meets individual training needs and facilitates the personal development of staff for the EPMA implementation.

 They will support the co-ordination of planning, preparation and delivery of training as well as learner support for all clinical and non-clinical users of the EPMA system.

The post holder will provide practical support to the clinical teams and take forward new ways of working related to EPMA within a clinical setting and continually seek service improvement.  

The post holder will be required to assist in the day to day running of a highly complex electronic clinical platform, supporting all users with troubleshooting, education, data and business continuity processes as required and triaging the need to escalate to the technical team.

Please note that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled worker visa. Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.

You will also be part of the EPMA on-call rota, providing out-of-hours support to sites as needed.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

Recognised training qualification, or equivalent experience
To be educated to a degree-level, or equivalent experience

Desirable criteria

Project management or related qualification
IT qualification or equivalent experience
Registered Healthcare professional (Nurse, pharmacy tech etc.)

Experience

Essential criteria

Proven experience in delivering systems training to individuals or groups
Experience of working in the NHS
Experience in training others/staff mentoring
Experience of dealing with a variety of people at all levels and professions
Experience of project management or Project support.
Evidence of successfully planning and implementing a change
Experience of motivating, directing and supporting a team.

Desirable criteria

EPMA system experience
Experience with Adobe Captivate eLearning platform
Experience of developing training materials

Knowledge

Essential criteria

Knowledge of NHS structure and hospital practices
Knowledge of electronic prescribing systems, and their applicability in a range of NHS contexts

Desirable criteria

Knowledge of use of medicines within hospital and community settings
Knowledge of prescribing and medicines supply processes
Knowledge of medicines and their uses and an awareness of the implications of drug - related errors

Skills

Essential criteria

Problem identification and solving: methodical and logical approach with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, where tasks might require adjustment due to variable workload and where there might be competing demands or deadlines.
Confident use of administrative systems including excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams
Understanding of basic IT troubleshooting and support

Desirable criteria

Familiar with any EPMA systems or hospital IT systems
Able to adapt training methods based on learner/organisational needs

Essential criteria

A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
Able to work weekends and On–Call (Trust-Wide)
Flexibility to work / cover at other sites to support the demands of the service
Flexibility in working hours
