Job overview
We are inviting applications for a motivated and forward-thinking Physiotherapist to join our Inpatient team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to enhance their clinical and managerial skills within a supportive and dynamic environment. This role rotates every 8 months, using a request system allowing staff to tailor their clinical experience.
Rotations include-
- ITU/ Surgery
- Respiratory/ MADU
- Cardiology
- Acute Medicine
- Stroke
- Neuro Outliers
- Neuro Outpatients

As a senior member of the team, you will be involved in the supervision, education, and appraisal of physiotherapists, support staff, and students. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to lead and participate in relevant service development initiatives.
Main duties of the job
- Deliver a high-quality physiotherapy service by assessing and treating patients with complex presentations.
- Supervise and mentor newly qualified physiotherapists, technicians, assistants, and students while contributing to the education of multidisciplinary team (MDT) staff.
- Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) and actively participate in departmental activities.
- Take part in the weekend and on-call service as required.
- Weekend working commitments will be determined based on service demands and rotational requirements

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Clinical Duties:
- Implement relevant standards, policies, and best practices in patient care.
- Independently assess and manage complex respiratory patients using clinical reasoning.
- Develop and deliver personalised physiotherapy treatment plans.
- Maintain professional and legal accountability, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Stay updated with clinical advancements, contributing to service development.
- Participate in the respiratory on-call and weekend service.
Management & Leadership:
- Effectively manage a dynamic caseload and respond to urgent referrals.
- Supervise, support, and mentor junior staff, assistants, and students.
- Contribute to service improvements and policy development.
- Ensure safe use of physiotherapy equipment and report any defects.
Communication & Collaboration:
- Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, liaising with medical staff, nurses, and allied health professionals.
- Communicate complex information sensitively to patients, carers, and colleagues.
- Maintain accurate patient records and contribute to ward rounds and case discussions.
- Participate in department meetings and ensure effective information sharing.
Education & Research:
- Support the training and development of junior physiotherapists and students
- Engage in continuous professional development and stay informed about best practices.
- Lead and participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and research projects

- Rotational B5 experience in NHS environment
- HCPC
- Physio Degree or equivalent
