Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic physiotherapist with an interest in rehabilitation to work in a supportive, highly skilled team benefitting from excellent opportunities for training and development.

The successful candidate would hold their own caseload of patients seen in their homes to work towards rehab goals that matter to them.

This is a fixed term post so a great chance to try something new. Ideally you would have some community and/or stroke experience but we are open to all applications, contact us to find out whether it is the right post for you.

Main duties of the job

    • Be an autonomous practitioner responsible for the safe and comprehensive physio therapeutic assessment and management of your own caseload 
      • Work within your scope of practice 
      • Plan and prioritise your workload independently and supervise assistants, rehabilitation workers and students as required 
      • Support and guide service users in appropriate goal setting 
      • Use clinical reasoning and treatment skills to develop and deliver personalised treatment plans based on evidence based practice 
      • Maintain accurate patient/client records  in line with documentation guidelines 
      • Work as part of a wider MDT to achieve patient goals 
      • Communicate effectively with the wider MDT
      • Delegate and supervise appropriate tasks and physiotherapy treatment plans to Rehabilitation Workers
      • Be able to order equipment and ensure the safe and appropriate use of equipment, reporting any issues 
      • Facilitate appropriate referrals to other services or investigations based on your assessment to ensure holistic patient care 
      • Identify risks and act accordingly to minimise risk to self, service users and colleagues in line with policy and procedures 
      • Actively participate in training
      • With support from supervisor, identify and work towards specific  objectives and to actively participate in service development projects as required
