Job overview
To provide and lead a wide range of appropriate recreational activities to enable young people aged 11-18 years with Diabetes, Epilepsy, or Cystic Fibrosis to develop cognitive, social and emotional skills throughout the services. To participate in the Paediatric multi-disciplinary teams using specific skills to contribute to the care and understanding
of the young people, their families and carers. To ensure the clinic environment is young people friendly and stimulating and encourage and continue to develop a peer group network of support. To conduct surveys to capture Quality of life indicators, confidence measures and self-management ratings. To work closely with Children and conduct relevant workshops in the community. To support the wider hospital youth service and ensure young people from the service to which they are aligned are able to engage in activities and sessions in line with the National Youth Agency Curriculum.

- Experience of working with young people from a variety of backgrounds in either a healthcare setting of a youth community setting

- Good interpersonal skills. Effective communication with adolescents and young people. An understanding of cultural differences
