Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen which will integrate working with an established finance team with the Trust's new Fordcombe and Wells Health Division.

This is a role which will provide senior finance support to the Fordcombe and Wells Health Division, reporting directly to the Director of Finance – Performance.

Main duties of the job

  To work in parallel with the Finance Director – Fordcombe.

·             Embedding of MTW financial procedures and processes at Fordcombe.

·             To support the set up of private patients, to improve access to referrals and improve    the billing process.

·             To provide monthly reporting on the revenue position.

·             To set up budgets aligned to the current establishment.

·             To identify skill or capacity gap at Fordcombe, ie tasks previously provided centrally by previous owner.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Professional qualification in accountancy (CIMA, ACA, CIPFA, ACCA)
  • Expert knowledge gained through further post-qualification specialist training or experience. Evidence of maintaining and developing technical accounting expertise and of staying up to date with current accounting rules since qualification
  • Experience of working in a senior finance role, advising Executive Directors and other senior management

Experience/Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Experience of business partnering, supporting senior managers and/ or directors in service developments
  • Experience of using complex financial models for assessing risk and informing decision-making
  • Experience in making or advising on complex decisions involving financial risk
  • Understand the concepts underpinning the development of a strategy and some of the elements which can be arranged to gain competitive advantage
  • An understanding of the NHS Payment Scheme
Desirable criteria
  • Working in NHS or private healthcare setting at a senior level
