Main duties of the job
What You’ll Do:
As a Volunteer Ward Support member on our Neurology High Care Ward, you’ll play an essential role in improving the patient experience. Your main tasks will include:
- Comforting patients: Spend time talking to patients and reassuring those who may feel anxious or nervous.
- Mealtime assistance: Help serve beverages, assist during mealtimes, and clear trays and cups afterward.
- Keeping the ward organised: Restock shelves and trolleys to ensure everything runs smoothly for patients and staff.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
