Exciting Opportunity in Radiology – Nuclear Medicine & PET-CT Support Role
Are you a motivated and compassionate individual looking for a rewarding role in healthcare? The Radiology Service at BCU East is expanding and seeking enthusiastic team members to support our growing Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT service.
In this role, you’ll be an integral part of a dedicated team conducting specialised radiological investigations using radioisotopes. You’ll work closely with radiographers and clinical staff, ensuring smooth operations while providing essential support to patients, their families, and other departments.
We’re looking for individuals who thrive in a team-oriented environment, have a genuine interest in patient care, and are eager to assist in delivering high-quality diagnostic services. Your contributions will directly impact patient experiences, helping them feel comfortable and supported throughout their clinical examinations.
What We’re Looking For:
✔ A passion for patient care and excellent communication skills
✔ A team player with a proactive and supportive approach
✔ Experience in a Radiology Department or similar healthcare setting (preferred but not essential)
If you’re ready to make a difference in a dynamic and growing field, we’d love to hear from you!
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities & Main Duties
This is a dynamic and varied role, perfect for someone who enjoys both administrative and patient-facing responsibilities. As part of the Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the service, supporting both patients and clinical staff.
Your Role Will Include:
✔ Patient Coordination & Communication – Scheduling appointments, calling patients to explain scan procedures, and providing reassurance and guidance.
✔ Administrative & IT Support – Managing booking schedules, handling queries from consultants, and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
✔ Clinical Involvement (Training Provided) – Undertaking venous access/cannulation where required, under professional guidance.
✔ Operational Support – Ordering radionuclides, liaising with radiographers, consultants, and other team members to maintain seamless service delivery.
✔ Reception & Patient Care – Greeting and assisting patients at the PET-CT scanning unit, ensuring they feel comfortable and informed.
This role, while primarily clerical, offers valuable hands-on experience in a clinical setting. Comprehensive training and support will be provided, with opportunities to develop new skills and progress within the radiology service.
If you’re an organised, detail-oriented, and compassionate individual looking to make a difference in patient care, we’d love to hear from you!
